What is Pre Pregnancy Counselling ?

Having a safe, healthy and happy pregnancy begins well before you have a positive result on a test. Caring for your health before you become pregnant helps you prepare for a pregnancy. Preconception counseling is a visit with us where you discuss many aspects of pregnancy and plan for a healthy pregnancy.This appointment should happen at least three months before you start trying to get pregnant. During the visit, we will discuss the following topics: Family history, your general medical history, your OB/GYN history, lifestyle, vaccination

How is it done?

  • During the counselling, you will undergo a series of physical tests such as heart, lungs, breast and abdomen tests.
  • Followed by lab tests for hepatitis, rubella, pap smear.
  • Discussion about the lifestyle of you and your partner happens during the visit.
